Artist and Activist Sixto Rrodriguez Stops by the Center for a Visit

Sixto Diaz Rodriguez is an American singer-songwriter from Detroit, Michigan.  Although not well-known in the United States, Rodriguez's albums were extremely successful in South Africa.  In fact, sales of his records outnumbered those of Elvis Presley in South Africa.  The 2012 Academy-Award winning documentary "Searching for Sugar Man" details more of Rodriguez's life and his musical career.

In 2013, the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies honored Rodriguez with a Community Peacemaker Award.  Rodriguez has since moved on to be a strong friend and supporter of the Center.  On April 4, 2017 Rodriguez stopped by the Center to pay a visit to old friends.
