Key Players

Clinical Supervisors: Speech-Language Pathology

Tina Waldus Chris Hogan-Henk Liz Fischer-McCourt

“Athletes with Autism” is a collaborative program organized by Ms. Tina Waldus and faculty members in the WSU Education department to give children with autism the opportunity to participate in team sports. Our SLP graduate students have received inter-professional clinical experience by facilitating communication skills in the children while playing sports, along with WSU students from Education. Ms. Waldus has served as a CSD clinical supervisor for five years.

This year we hired new clinical supervisors Ms. Christine Hogan-Henk and Ms. Elizabeth Fischer-McCourt who work in our Head Start and Outpatient programs. Both have extensive experience working with young children and we are fortunate to be collaborating with them. Our SLP clinical supervisors now track student progress and clock hours using the CALIPSO electronic system. In addition to providing CEU activities for clinical supervisors and co-teaching ‘The Clinical Process’ course, Ms. Karen O’Leary coordinates on-campus and off-campus clinical supervisor activities as the instructor for the graduate ‘Clinical Practicum’ course sequence.
