Department of English

2018-2019 Graduate Scholarships

The Department of English awards scholarships that derive from endowed gifts to our program to undergraduate and graduate students annually.  These scholarships, generally $1,000 each and awarded over the fall and winter semesters, are applied for separately from Fellowships, Graduate Teaching Assistantships, Graduate Student Assistantships, Graduate Research Assistantships, and the Graduate Professional Scholarship.

Graduate students applying for Department Scholarships will follow a separate process from undergraduate students (current AGRADE students should apply for scholarships through the graduate scholarship process).  To apply for Department Scholarships, submit the following to the Director of Graduate Studies by Friday, February 24, 2016:

1.    The 2017 English Department Graduate Scholarship form.  This form includes information about your enrollment status, program, which department scholarships you are applying for (with the criteria), and your personal statement.  The form is available at this link: https://forms.wayne.edu/5a665cd53d03c  Review the eligibility criteria for each award and then check the awards you are applying for. There are places to upload your statement of purpose and unofficial WSU transcripts.
