MALL Program Application Materials Checklist

To apply to the MALL program, you must submit some information directly to the Graduate School and other information directly to the MALL advisor for your target language:

 

Step 1: Graduate School Application

Submit these materials directly to the Graduate Admissions Office:

_____ Application Form

_____ Official transcripts

_____ Three academic letters of recommendation from people familiar with your ability to pursue graduate work or with your proficiency in your target language

_____ TOEFL scores (for nonnative English speakers only)
 

Step 2: MALL Program Application

Submit these materials to the appropriate MALL program advisor.

_____ A copy of your printout confirming you have submitted your Graduate School application

_____ A statement of purpose (This is a one-page letter from you stating why you should be a part of the MALL program: how it meets your professional and academic goals, what qualities you have as a student that will make you a successful graduate student in this program.)
 

Step 3: Financial Support (optional)

_____ Graduate Teaching Assistantship application (Please contact the Department of Classical and Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at 313-577-3002 for an application.)

_____ Scholarships, fellowships, grants (visit the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ Scholarships pages)
