WSU Mathematics Graduate, Hai Dang Nguyen, wins SIAM Prize

Assistant Professor Hai Dang Nguyen, a doctoral graduate of Wayne State University, was awarded the 2019 SIAM Activity Group on Control and Systems Theory Prize. Professor Nguyen graduated from our Mathematics Department under Professor George Yin in 2018. He received his PhD in applied mathematics. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Alabama.

Professor Nguyen received the theory award and gave a prize lecture titled "Some New Techniques for Recurrence and Stability of Diffusion Processes in a Random Environment" at the SIAM Conference on Applications of Control in Chengdu, China this past June.

The SIAM Activity Group on Control and Systems prize is awarded every 2 years to one individual for distinguished research contributions to the mathematical theory of systems and control.
