Mathematics Resource Center

The Mathematics Resource Center is a free, walk-in tutoring service provided by the Department of Mathematics for all Wayne State University students who are currently enrolled in mathematics classes at this university. We also provide assistance to incoming WSU students as well as alumni that are trying to obtain placement in WSU math courses at the calculus 1 level and below.

 

 

Fall/Winter Hours

Monday - Thursday:  10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Friday:  10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Saturday (Collaborative Commons, 2nd Floor UGL): 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Spring/Summer Hours

Monday-Thursday: 11:30 am - 5:30 pm

1198 Faculty/Administration Building (FAB), unless otherwise noted.

Current Policies:

  1. Signing in and out with one’s WSU access ID is mandatory.
  2. No borrowing of current textbooks.
  3. Electronics may be plugged in for those seated directly next to an outlet as long as their cords do not cause potential tripping hazards.
  4. Food and uncapped beverages are not allowed in the MRC.

Jobs: Math majors/minors are encouraged to apply for tutoring positions in the MRC if they have satisfied the following criteria:

  1. Overall and Mathematics GPA of 3.0.
  2. Completed MAT 2020 prior to applying.


STEM majors in other areas may apply as well if mathematics is heavily utilized in their area of study.  However, preference will be given to those that either have a double major or minor in mathematics.

The MRC does not have job positions available at this time.
