Sociology

Welcome to Wayne State University's Department of Sociology website.  We hope that by exploring our website, you will find the information that meets your interest.  Our department focuses on the study of human societies from a variety of the conceptual & theoretical perspectives.  Our graduate program concentrates on Labor and Urban, Medical Sociology, and Inequality.  A list of our courses and their descriptions can be found by clicking on "Courses" on the left.

Our Graduate Director is Dr. Khari Brown, and his advising hours will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 11am-4pm.  For other inquiries please feel free to  contact Chris Cowen, Administrative Assistant; Michelle Love, Office Service Clerk II; or Dr. Heather Dillaway, Interim Chair.  Our department is open 8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.  We're located at 2228 Faculty Administration Building, telephone 313-577-2930.
