Rising Scholars Program

Rising Scholars Program (RSP)

The Rising Scholars Program (RSP) offers specially designated sections of MAT 0900 and MAT 0993, taught by highly trained instructors in a combined lecture-workshop format.  The RSP program provides a strong sense of community and is abundant in resources to support student learning. The program offers individual tutoring, staff office hours, study groups, and a unique support system consisting of instructors, workshop leaders, undergraduate assistants, and student support personnel.

RSP has posted dramatic results. For MAT 0993, in Fall 2011:

• The pass rate for RSP students was 83% with 76% of students earning and A or B.
• The pass rate for non-RSP students was 50% with 32% of the students earning an A or B.
