The 2018 Michigan China Quiz Bowl was held on Saturday, March 3, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, at the Liberal Arts Building with championship rounds at the VisTaTech Center Auditorium. Mr. Hong Lei, the Consul General of the Chinese Consulate in Chicago was on hand for final rounds.

Based on the Michigan Japan Quiz Bowl sponsored by the Michigan Japanese Teachers Association since 1993, the Michigan China Quiz Bowl is a competition where teams from middle and high schools across Michigan test their knowledge of Chinese language and geography. Divisions include students registered in first, second and third year middle school Chinese courses and first, second, third, and fourth year Chinese high school courses. Chinese  native and heritage students (those who are from homes where Chinese may be spoken) and students who have spent more than 30 days in China are ineligible to participate, but are encouraged to volunteer as score keepers, time keepers, and score sheet runners as well as to take part in the Art Contest for the Michigan China Quiz Bowl.
