The Global Studies program is designed for students passionate about understanding and participating in a globalized world. Students learn about global institutions, issues and movements from an interdisciplinary perspective by developing language skills, taking core courses in humanities and social sciences; and specializing in global politics, health and environment, and cultures and identities.
Throughout the curriculum, students will think critically about questions related to global justice, inequality, how globalization impacts different cultures and regions around the world, and the responsibilities of global citizenship.
Deadline: Feb. 20.

The Global Studies program contributes to the strategic goals of Wayne State University, which aims to “prepare a diverse body of students to excel in an increasingly complex and global society.” In order to meet these goals, our program prepares students in the areas of global politics and economies, global health and environment, global cultures and identities, and regional area studies.
Through core courses, language competence, focus areas, and internships and international experiences, our program trains students to meet the complex challenges facing our world, which requires interdisciplinary perspectives and approaches.
