The minor in Global Studies can complement and enhance many degree programs, and like the major is based on one of three focus groups:

  • Global Cultures and Identities
  • Global Health and Environment
  • Global Politics and Economies

Minor requirements consist of a minimum of twenty-two credits distributed as follows:
 

Language Requirement (8 credits)

1010 or equivalent 4 cr.
1020 or equivalent 4 cr.
Subtotal Credit Hours: 8

 

Students who test out of 1010 and 1020 of a language should take 4 more credits of a language.

Electives consist of a minimum of eight credits from among the focus areas of:

  • Global Cultures and Identities
  • Global Heath and Environment
  • Global Politics and Economies

Focus areas allow students to specialize within the program in ways that enhance their academic and professional goals. Students are encouraged to take the 8-9 credits from within one focus area, however they are not required to do so and may take them from among all of the options listed.
