Our Mission

Wayne State’s mission is to create and advance knowledge, prepare a diverse student body to thrive, and positively impact local and global communities. The STEM Commons will help create and advance knowledge by facilitating student learning and collaborations among STEM scholars at WSU. The STEM Commons will prepare a diverse student body to thrive by supporting undergraduate students in their learning for and beyond their courses, and facilitating the professional development of graduate students. We will use evidence-based methods to support our diverse students in their unique challenges. We will positively impact our communities through the Engineering camps, by encouraging students to explore STEM beyond the classroom and by encouraging WSU researchers to share the knowledge they are creating with a broader audience.
