Research

My research examines the representation, accessibility, and integration of noun-noun concepts. In addition to studying semantic, associative, integrative, and mediated priming, I investigate the underlying executive functions involved in the inference of a conceptual relation and the subsequent integration of concepts (e.g., a WOOL SWEATER is a sweater composed of wool). Related to these interests, I’m currently investigating the extent to which training in detection of an analogical relation (e.g., the whole/part relation in BOOK : PAGE :: CAR : ENGINE) improves performance in relational reasoning and inhibitory-related executive functions.
