Professor Thompson (Ph.D. University of Texas) is Director of the Center for Urban Studies at Wayne State University and is a full-professor in the Department of Political Science. He also teaches in the Masters of Public Administration program.
Among other issues, he has studied interlocal arrangements among cities in Southeastern Michigan, collaboration arrangements in local and state government, and spatial mismatch of jobs and residential locations. He teaches courses in program evaluation, urban administration, Detroit politics, and Michigan politics.
