The WSU-CI occasionally sponsors musical troupes from China, such as the Huazhong University of Science and Technology Musical Troupe, which appeared in January 2010 at the Detroit Music Theater and the Wulinhanyun Kung Fu and Folk Music Troupe, which appeared at the Masonic Temple in April 2011.
