Anthropology Graduate Student Organization (AGSO)

In the fall of 2007, graduate students in the department of Anthropology at Wayne State University formed an organization to serve current and future anthropology graduate students in their academic and professional development, as well as to facilitate the exchange of information among graduate students and between graduate students and faculty.

Some of the objectives of the organization are to:

  • Foster a sense of community between graduate students and improve graduate student socialization
  • Provide a forum for intellectual exchange
  • Gather and provide information about: seeking and applying for funding; publishing; and presenting at conferences
  • Network with other anthropological associations
  • Enhance mentoring relationships between students, and students and faculty
  • Discuss the ideas and concerns of graduate students and share these with faculty

If you are a future or current graduate student in the WSU department of Anthropology please contact one of the officers below for more information about AGSO, and to be added to the AGSO listserv.
