The Michigan – Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (MI-LSAMP) Program
Description

MI-LSAMP Research Grants

The Michigan – Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (MI-LSAMP) Program is a newly formed partnership between the Wayne State University, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Western Michigan University. The primary mission of the MI-LSAMP is to significantly increase the number of under-represented minority students earning baccalaureate degrees each year in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical (STEM) fields.

In this effort, the MI-LSAMP Program has funding to sponsor STEM students interested in research. The program will provide a minimum of $1100 per semester to select students looking for this type of opportunity. The $1100 can be used as the sole funding source for a research project or as supplemental funding for an existing research project. The student must have a faculty member as a mentor/advisor for their project.

To print the application, click on the Research Opportunities link from the MI-LSAMP home page. The student must complete the entire application which includes details on the proposed research project, and attach an updated resume. The completed application should be returned to the MI-LSAMP office, College of Engineering, Suite 1122, Detroit, MI 48202.

If you have any additional questions about the MI-LSAMP program or the opportunities available, you can contact Michelle Reaves at (313) 577-4029 or email wsu-lsamp@eng.wayne.edu.
